Using Over The Air settings (OTA) service on the Nokia N80.

This article gives a description about text messages in Nokia N80.

Your phone can accept many kinds of text messages that contain information, also called over-the-air (OTA) messages. Those are:

Configuration Message
Business card Message
Ringing tone Message
Operator logo Message
Calender entry Message
Web Message
Email notification Message

Configuration Message: You may receive a Text Message service number, Voice Mailbox number, Internet Access Point settings, Access Point Login script settings, or e-mail settings from your network operator, service provider, or company information management team in the form of a configuration message.

To save the above settings:
  • Select Options.
  • Select Save all.
Business Card Message:

To save the information to Contacts, do as follows:
  • Select Options.
  • Select Save Business Card.
Note: Certificates or Sound Files attached to the business card are not saved.

Ringing Tone Message:

To save the Ring Tone:
  • Select Options.
  • Select Save.
Operator Logo Message: For the logo to be shown when the phone is idle instead of the network operator's identification,
  • Select Options.
  • Press Save.
Calendar Entry Message:

To save the invitation:

  • Select Options.
  • Select Save to Calendar.
Web Message:

To save the message in the bookmarks list in Web:
  • Select Options.
  • Press Add to bookmarks.
If the message contains both access point settings and bookmarks, then to save the data:
  • Select Options.
  • Select Save all.
E-mail notification Message: Informs you how many new e-mails you have in your remote mailbox. An extended notification may provide more detailed information.

Note:  If you receive a vCard file that has a picture attached, the picture is saved to Contacts.
