Motorola V220: Transferring Pictures, Audio, and Video Files

Want to know how to transfer files (Pictures, Audio, Video) using USB cable via PC for your Motorola V220 handset? Read on...



You will need to install the Mobile Phone Tools software onto your computer. After the program has been installed, the PC will prompt the user to select a Profile to be used for the Motorola V220 Mobile Phone Tools.


  • Please select "Use a default profile" and select OK.
  • "Welcome to the Phone setup Wizard" prompt will appear.
  • You should be able to see the various types of connections such as USB Cable, Blue Tooth, Infrared and Serial Cable.
  • Select USB Cable and click Next.
  • Plug in the cable to the PC and then to the Motorola V220 handset.
  • A clock will appear on the PC.
    • Note: Please be reminded to only plug in the cable after the software is installed and to be sure that your Motorola V220 handset is switched ON.
  • After a few minutes, the skin of your Motorola V220 handset will appear on the screen.
  • The PC will read the phone data by showing "Initialization" on the screen of the skin.
    • Note: It will take some time, please be patience.
  • Your network provider's name will appear on the screen. This shows that the link is ready to be used.
  • On the left side of the handset skin, you will see "Multimedia" option.
  • Click on this feature and a new window will appear with the left side consisting of files in your computer and the right side will be the phone.
  • On the phone side, there will be 3 folders (Picture, Audio and Video).
  • You will need to Double click to open the folder before you can drag files from the PC side to transfer to that folder or vice-versa.
  • Now, you can Transfer Files (Pictures, Audio, Video) from PC to your Motorola V220 via USB Cable. Have fun!!!
