RIM Blackberry 7290 Menu Icons

You've got these icons on your Blackberry screen and you don't know what they mean or what they can be used for! Read on and you'll understand...





The icons that you see on the main screen and its description is as follows:

Send/receive messages through Xpress Messaging.
Note:

Activating or setting up e-mail using BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) account.
Note:
Please refer to Individual Email Activation instructions and current list of supported devices.
 
You can receive, read, reply to, compose, save and delete email, PIN and SMS messages.
To view saved messages
Search for a message in the whole lot of messages on your phone.
For sending email, SMS and PIN messages.
Call related.  You can place the phone calls on mute or on hold. You can also set call forwarding, call barring, and initiate conference calls using this option.
For storing a list of personal contact information such as addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses.
Set and follow appointments using Day, Agenda, Week, or Month view options. You can also enable wireless calendar synchronization.
This is to add, edit, delete tasks and mark tasks as complete when done.
Create, edit, and delete notes and memos.
Can be used for performing mathematical calculations and measurement conversions.
Set Alarm to sound at a specific time every day or only on weekdays.
Surf web pages using your service provider or network operator's gateway. Save them and set browser settings.
Browse web pages and view web addresses using your corporate Mobile Data Service (MDS). Save them and set browser settings.
Set different tones to your handheld to notify you when you receive messages, phone calls, appointments etc.,
This option will allow you to set password, customize AutoText, date and time settings, and program the automatic on/off feature.
Locking your keyboard helps you in preventing keying in characters accidently. The Keyboard Lock icons changes to the Lock icon after you set a password.  
This option is to turn off/on the handheld radio.  If you are on a airplane, you would prefer to turn it off so that you wont receive any calls or messages that might intefere with other radio signals.   
Turning Power off will just turn your handheld off but still, there might be come kind of radio communication present, but if you use the Turn Wireless Off option, you can be sure that there is no communication.
Switch your handheld off when you want to conserve the battery.  You can also use Auto On/Off feature for switching your handheld on automatically at the instructed time.
