Have you forgotten the Lock code / Security code / Password of your Motorola Razr V3M Verizon?

Unlike some other phones there is no keypad shortcut to bypass your lock screen if you have forgotten your lock or security code. If you have forgotten these codes you will have to take the phone to a local service center and have those codes reset. And....

Here's what to do:

Your phone's 4-digit unlock code is originally set to the last 4 digits of your phone number, and the 6-digit security code is originally set to 000000. Your service provider may reset these codes before you receive your phone. If your service provider has not reset these codes, we recommend that you change them to prevent others from accessing your personal information. The unlock code must contain 4 digits, and the security code must contain 6 digits.

If you forget your unlock code, try entering 1234 or the last 4 digits of your phone number. If that does not work, press the menu key, in most of the phones this will bypass the unlock code screen, and the phone will now be asking for the security code. If you forget the security code, send your unit in for repair to a level three LSC. There could be a charge for this as it is not covered under warranty.

To change a code or password:

  • Press the Menu key
  • Use the Navigation Key to scroll to Settings, and select this option
  • Scroll to Security and select this option
  • Scroll to New Passwords and select this option
  • Select the type of code you wish to change
  • Enter the old code when prompted, then enter the new code
  • If you forget your SIM lock, or call barring password, please contact your service provider.
