Installing or Upgrading Blackberry Desktop Software

the procedure to install or upgrade your Blackberry desktop software on your PC s given here.

Before you start, ensure you have downloaded the setup file from the Blackberry site.  Click here to see how.
  1. Go ahead and start the setup file that you have downloaded from the site.
  2. Click Next.

  3. From the drop down, select the appropriate language and click Next.

  4. Click on I Accept the terms.... and click Next to continue.

  5. Enter the appropriate user information and select Anyone who uses this computer (all users) radio button and click Next.

  6. If you want to change the destination folder for installation, click Change or you can just click on Next to proceed.

  7. Choose Typical for the setup type and click Next.

  8. On this screen, you should see two options.
    1. Select the second option BlackBerry Internet Service option to configure your ISP provided e-mail such as a POP or IMAP.  Click Next and skip to Step 9.

    2. Select the first option i.e., BlackBerry Enterprise Server if you are using your blackberry for corporate e-mails like Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus Domino etc., Click Next.
      Note      : If you are not sure, better contact your IT/System Administrator.
      • Choose the server type you are using at work and click Next.

      • Select the type you use to access your official e-mails.  Click Next when done.  Contact your system administrator if you are unsure about this.

  9. Check or uncheck the options as per your requirement and click Next.

  10. Click on Install to proceed with installation.

  11. Click Finish by checking "Yes, I want to start the Desktop Manager Software" check box.
