Transferring Files Using Infrared Port from your Sony Ericsson W550i

You can transfer files from your Sony Ericsson W550i using Infrared Port. Know how?


Click here to transfer files using the Bluetooth Technology from your Sony Ericsson W550i mobile.

Click here to transfer files using the USB Cable from your Sony Ericsson W550i mobile.

You can use the Infrared Port as a transfer method with compatible devices on your Sony Ericsson W550i mobile. For example, you can synchronize calendar items.

Note: When connecting to a computer, refer to its user documentation. Make sure that computer Infrared Speed is set to 115200 bps.


Follow the steps below to Turn Infrared Port 'ON':
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click the Connectivity tab.
  • Click Infrared Port.
  • Turn it to ON.
    or else
  • Select 10 Minutes to turn on for 10 minutes.
In order to connect two devices using Infrared you need to Turn ON Infrared in both devices, make sure the Infrared Port on your Sony Ericsson W550i mobile is facing the Infrared Port on the other device with a maximum distance of 20 cm.

Follow the steps below to Send an Item using Infrared Port.
  • Note: Here we take contact as example.
  • Make sure the Infrared in both devices is ON.
  • Go to Contacts and select a contact.
  • Click More.
  • Click Send Contact.
  • Select Via Infrared.
