Installing BlackBerry Handheld software on your Handheld

Software upgrade on Blackberry Handheld

Update the firmware on your Blackbery handheld.

Here's what to do:
  1. First, connect your BlackBerry to your PC.
    Important    :  The installation process may take a max of half hour to complete.  Ensure you do not disconnect your handheld until it completes.
  2. Start BlackBerry Desktop Manager application.


    Important: If it automatically pops up to install the upgrade, click Cancel.

  3. Manually backup the handheld data.
  4. Double click on Application Loader.

  5. Click Next.
    Note    : If prompted for a password, go ahead and enter it and click Next.

  6. If you get a screen for device backup, click on "Do not automatically back up and restore..." radio button.  Click Next.

  7. Click Finish to start the installation process.

  8. Once done, click on Close.

  9. Manually restore back the data on your handheld.
