Connecting BlackBerry Handheld to BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Learn how to connect your Blackberry to the PC.

Are you connecting your phone for the first time? Here are detailed steps on how to connect BlackBerry to your PC.
  1. Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your computer.
  2. Connect your phone to your PC using the data cable you got from the BlackBerry manufacturer.  Ensure they are no loose connections.
  3. On the menu bar, click on Options > Connection Settings.

  4. From the drop down beside "Connection", select <None> and click Detect. This will automatically detect the port on which you have connected your phone.

  5. Your BlackBerry Desktop Manager should automatically detect the port.  Click OK.


  6. The BlackBerry PIN will appear in the drop down beside the "Connection". Click OK.

  7. The Status bar on the BlackBerry Desktop Manager should display "Connected" as shown.
