Sony Ericsson: Synchronizing via USB Cable.
To set up a link via USB Cable a Synchronization process:
- First of all, install the software for the synchronization.
- You can either use the CD or download it from the website www.sonyericsson.com.
- After downloading the software, install it with a double click on the set up file.
- Install the USB driver for the DCU-60 cable.
The driver files are on the CD or you can locate them on the website www.sonyericsson.com.
- To install the driver, connect the cable to the PC and cell phone and follow the instructions of the hardware assistant.
Do the installation manually and choose the CD ROM or the local path where the downloaded driver is saved.
- The installation of the different drivers for the USB cable will repeat 4-5 times. After that the USB cable is correctly installed.
Note: You can check the installation in your Device Manager on your computer. Click on "Ports (Com & LPT)" and see that there are two ports installed for the USB cable. If you see a yellow question mark or an exclamation mark, you need to install the drivers again because there were some details missing.
- With the installation of the synchronization software there are installed the phone-monitor-options in the control panel.
- Open the phone-monitor-options and Choose "Com Ports" and enable the two Com Ports that are configurated for the USB cable in the Device Manager.
Every other Com Port in the list has to be disabled. Click on "Apply" and close the phone-monitor-options. You may need to reboot your PC.
- Disconnect the phone from the USB cable and connect it again. The phone connection assistant appears and you can configurate your device. Now you can set up the synchronisation settings and start the synchronisation.
- Right Click on the little phone icon in your task bar and Choose sync station settings. In the sync station settings, Choose the settings for your synchronisation. Now, you can start your synchronisation.
