Essentially a mix between a giant iPhone and a shrunken MacBook, the iPad - announced by Steve Jobs himself at the Apple event in San Francisco on January 27th 2010, the much awaited day.

The high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid.
The Multi-Touch screen on iPad is based on the same revolutionary technology on iPhone. But the technology has been completely reengineered for the larger iPad surface, making it extremely precise and responsive.
How thin and light it is. The screen is 9.7 inches measured diagonally. So overall, it’s slightly smaller than a magazine
Upto 10 hours of battery life. As a result, you can use iPad for up to 10 hours while surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos, or listening to music.
Performance.The A4 chip inside iPad was custom-designed by Apple engineers to be extremely powerful yet extremely power efficient.

It is a 9.7-inch, 0.5-inch thin tablet rocking a full HD (incredibly hi-res) touchscreen interface with multi-touch, a Wi-Fi and 3G connected, a bespoke OS comparable to the iPhone and a penchant for gaming and apps. Inside, there's a super slick 1Ghz Apple A4 processor.
And the price?
The unit is $499 in the US for the 16GB model, $599 for 32GB model, $699 for 64GB non-3Gmodels.
For the Wi-Fi and the 3G models it is $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for 32GB model, $829 for 64GBmodel.
