Firmware upgrade doesn't work on my WRT54G
If you want to upgrade the router's firmware, make sure that you get the correct model number of the router that can be found underneath it (e.g. wrt54g v5).
Symptom
Downloaded the upgrade for the WRT54G, and when tried to run the firmware it cannot run it. Also when making it to a certain step of reconfiguring the wireless router it says need version 3.90 or higher to continue, not sure what 3.90 is.
Solution
Go to linksys.com/download, select the model number of your router and download the firmware. You refer to the answer id 341, that can be found on the linksys.com/kb website.
Run the firmware upgrade thru the web administration 192.168.1.1 and upgrade thru it. After the router restarts Go to Start -> Run and type "command", then type "ipconfig" . It should give the IP address and there you go..!
If nothing works out, try to reset the router by pressing the reset button for atleast for 20secs and restart it.
