Cannot connect to Xbox Live using a hub/switch linked to my modem
Troubleshooting hub/switch connection! Here is where you can get the information.
A hub and switch are two devices that split the bandwidth coming from any ethernet device that is connected to them.
Both these devices will not route communications from your LAN to the internet. They just split the bandwidth so your modem can see all of the MAC addresses connected to it.

If you do not like to purchase a router you could purchase another MAC address from your ISP so you are allowed to connect an additional amount of devices to the internet. |
