Will my Xbox play DVDs?

Yes! you can play DVDs on your XBox. You have to purchase the Xbox DVD playback kit for that (the Xbox will only play DVDs in 480i resolution).

Note: Not all DVD's are supported by Xbox DVD playback kit

Use the following procedure to get your Xbox to play DVDs:

  1. With the infrared receiver connected to the Xbox console, press the power button on the Xbox console to turn it on.
  2. Press the eject button to open the disc tray.
  3. Place the DVD on the disc tray with the label facing up.
  4. Press the eject button to close the disc tray. The DVD will begin playing.
