My Disk Copy or Disk Image Mounter does not recognize the files as disk images on my Mac desktop
Here's how to troubleshoot the problem.
When you download a file, from the Apple server, it will be encoded in both Mac Binary formats.
IE & Fetch decodes the software as it is downloaded. Other software like Netscape launches a helper application like StuffIt to decode software after it is downloaded.
The name of the file you are trying to open with Disk Copy should have extensions like .img, .smi, or .part and not .bin. If the file extension is .bin, then you need to decode it. using a utility like StuffIt Expander.
