Files that end with ".exe" won't open on my Apple Mac desktop

Here's how to troubleshoot the problem of being unable to open images in your Mac.

The Mac OS cannot open .exe files. Only computers running Windows or DOS can open them. But, there are some software like Real PC, Virtual PC or  SoftWindows which provide PC emulation for Mac OS.
